Trigger finger and Chiropractic treatments

Trigger finger is a condition in which a person has trouble extending the fingers from a bent position. Often the person may have to extend the fingers with the other hand to get them straight. The condition may have a history of chronic overuse in occupational settings.
The cause of the condition is inflammation of the tendon sheaths of the fingers.
Chiropractic management of trigger finger involves myofascial release of the flexor tendons and rest from aggrevating activities. It is usually recommended that a trial of conservative management including Chiropractic and myofascial release be tried for several months before other options are explored. Medical treatment often involves a cortisone injection or surgical release of adhesions.
